So in this note Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be revealed!
On Wednesday 4th grade worked to solidify a sense of steady beat while singing during a singing game. Boomwhacker accompaniments on selected rhythm patterns played secondary parts to the singing and playing of the game. All told as many as 3 different parts and actions took place simultaneously as part of the lesson.
All Day Kindergarten sang HELLO in another language; we reviewed movement motions learned the previous week where arms and hands and fingers would show circular, spiral, rising ( up ) and falling ( down ) motions. We added these motions to the song TEDDY BEAR and improvised our own ways of moving these motions while singing the song.
Thursday first grade came and taught their songs to a substitute teacher! I was off to a music workshop with the EDCO COLLABORATIVE in Bedford learning more songs and activities to use in the music classroom.
TODAY the 6th grade arrived and we worked on our 6th grade musical script writing adventure for our show to be performed on January 22 and 23. Each class followed their portion of storyline to write script and also lyrics to songs needed in the show to tell parts of the story. In Chorus today we will work to reinforce the songs and build vocal technique for the program.
