5th grade work today is to expand our abilities - today we worked for each person to "SING INDEPENDENTLY" on PITCH with the group or on PITCH with self. Our WELCOME song was used to SING favorite dinner time food - an improvisation activity - on pitches practiced in three different 5 note patterns. Students were free to used the patterns OR their own creations.
In Kindergarten, we explored the rhythmic scansion of GOLDEN DELICIOUS, RED DELICIOUS, MACINTOSH and GRANNY SMITH - apples they are studying in their classroom after their apple picking field trip. Students arranged the apples in orders to perform the RHTYHM of the apples read. EIGHT NOTE PAIRS and QUARTER NOTES were written for each name to reinforce reading words and their musical rhythms.
